Jessica McKenzie began experimenting with making her own body products in 2016. For many years, her aunt and her mother both made cold-process soap, but a friend of hers introduced her to the wonderful world of oils which sparked her creativity in an unexpected way. From there, she began to mix and play with combinations of plant-based and essential oils to create face and body products for herself. Fun with oils led to trials making soap and the rest is history.

After some years experimenting with cold-process soap for herself, friends and family, she decided to start producing and selling for the world to experience. It wasn’t until 2020, however, that Airy Soap emerged. With the world shut down and a baby on the way, Jessica worked to create a brand that felt the most in line with her philosophies about body care. She wanted her natural, handmade products to be experienced as the luxury that they are, and so she worked to carefully curate a line of soaps and body products that were simple, whose ingredients could be pronounced and that left your skin feeling its best (regardless on your skin type).

Today, Airy Soap is handmade in in the Mt.Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia. Airy Soap is part of the Go Mt. Airy Business Association.
